KOUKA

L’artiste franco-congolais explore dans son travail l’Humanisme comme réponse aux divisions et inégalités de ce monde. Il ne cesse d'interroger ses origines, sur ses toiles comme dans la rue.  Sa première empreinte urbaine apparaît en 2008 avec la silhouette de guerriers Bantus, qui, depuis lors, ont fait un tour du monde avec une escale à la Biennale de Dakar en 2016.

L’artiste d’origine sud-africaine, très engagée pour les droits des hommes et des femmes et dans la lutte raciale et écologique. En dépit de la morosité des questions traitées, telles que l’injustice, la pauvreté, les inégalités et l’apartheid, son travail est tourné vers l’humanisme, la spiritualité et l’espoir. C’est une des rares artistes femmes qui a acquis une reconnaissance internationale dans le milieu de l’art urbain.
